After coming to Hyderabad after 2 years, I immediately noticed that the roads in Hitech city, Kondapur, Whitefields, kukatpalle are worse than in Pune. They are all straddled with mud on both sides with virtually non-existent footpaths. No one cares that the loads of mud is making its way onto the road. Often you will see roads dug in between and not remade properly, broken concrete and potholes.
And once you go off the main road and take a left turn the tar/concrete roads almost vanish. You will feel as if you have come to a village! There are very few 90 degree right turns in the part of Hyderabad that I have moved around. One can’t reach his destination without taking a U turn. I feel good to say that Pune has gone ahead at lightning speed when it comes to roads.
While traveling to Pune on a Volvo bus over the weekend I passed through the Hadapsar area to which I had never gone before in my stay in Pune. I saw excellent roads & footpaths that were clean with jogging tracks. I was caught off my seat when I saw that the jogging tracks had a dividing middle line marked!
Pune & Hyderabad have swapped their road conditions in 2 years!
